Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to cardiothoracic surgery patients
- Assist in surgical procedures and pre-operative assessments
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and documentation
- Collaborate with surgeons and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor post-operative recovery and manage complications
- Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and care plans
- Ensure compliance with medical protocols and standards
- Participate in patient rounds and clinical meetings
Requirements
- Valid NP or PA license in the state of South Carolina
- Associate degree in nursing or a related field
- Previous experience in cardiothoracic surgery or related area preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Schedule: 12 to 24-hour in-house shifts
After-hours call required
24-hour weekend call shifts
Patient Volume: 20 per shift
Duties: Consults and first-assist for OR cases
Strong clinical support staff
EMR: eClinicalWorks
Must be board-certified
Paid travel & expenses
