As a Locum Cardiologist, you will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions, working closely with the medical team to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care. This Associate-level role is ideal for a physician seeking flexible contract engagement in the Medical Practice industry while maintaining clinical excellence and continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with cardiovascular conditions
- Develop and implement individualized cardiac treatment plans
- Perform and interpret diagnostic cardiology procedures and tests, including ECGs and echocardiograms
- Manage acute and chronic cardiac conditions across diverse patient populations
- Coordinate care with primary care providers, nurses, and allied health professionals
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient documentation in electronic health records
- Provide patient education on cardiovascular health, medications, and lifestyle management
- Adhere to clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and practice protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
- Support continuity of care during locum coverage periods
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of a cardiology residency and fellowship training
- Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state
- Board certification in Cardiology or eligibility for certification
- Current DEA registration and relevant certifications such as ACLS
- Strong clinical judgment and proficiency in diagnostic and interventional cardiology
- Experience with electronic health record systems
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient-centered care skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new practice environments as a locum provider
- Commitment to professionalism, ethical standards, and continuous medical education
Schedule: Monday-Friday (8a-4p) in clinic, or inpatient coverage
Call shifts required
Daily Volume: 8-10 inpatients on weekdays, 6-7 inpatients on weekends
Duties: Rounding, cath lab procedures, etc.
Must be able to read echocardiograms
Support Staff: APP, Hospitalist
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
