Hotel Room Inspector – Job Description
Department: Housekeeping
Reports To: Executive Housekeeper / Housekeeping Manager
Location: Troubadour Hotel New Orleans (or your property name)
Position Summary
The Hotel Room Inspector ensures that all guest rooms, corridors, and related areas meet the hotel’s cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance standards. This position plays a critical role in maintaining guest satisfaction by performing thorough inspections of cleaned rooms, providing feedback to housekeeping staff, and supporting overall quality control within the department.
Key Responsibilities

Inspect cleaned guest rooms to ensure they meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.

Verify that all guest amenities, linens, and supplies are properly stocked and arranged.

Report maintenance issues or damages to Engineering or the Housekeeping Manager promptly.

Provide feedback and retraining to Room Attendants when cleaning standards are not met.

Ensure guest room safety features (locks, smoke detectors, etc.) are functional.

Maintain inspection logs, reports, and records accurately.

Support the Housekeeping Manager with scheduling, inventory, and quality audits.

Assist with cleaning rooms when necessary to meet deadlines or high occupancy demands.

Monitor staff grooming, uniform, and adherence to hotel policies.

Uphold confidentiality and protect guest privacy at all times.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required; hospitality training preferred.

Minimum 1–2 years of housekeeping or inspection experience in a hotel environment.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
