Child Care Assistant Teacher

Overview

We are looking for a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Childcare Assistant who loves working with young children and is excited to help create a fun, safe, and engaging environment where every child can thrive.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys getting on the floor to build block towers, creating messy art projects, reading stories with excitement, and encouraging children to explore the world around them. We are looking for team members who understand that play is not a break from learning—it is how children learn.

No childcare experience? That's okay! We are happy to train the right person who has a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a genuine love for children.

Duties

• Assist Lead Teachers and the Supervisor with daily classroom activities.
• Build positive, nurturing relationships with children and families.
• Support our play-based learning philosophy through hands-on activities and creative play.
• Encourage imagination, exploration, and problem-solving during indoor and outdoor play.
• Help supervise children while ensuring a safe, clean, and engaging environment.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines.
• Read stories, sing songs, participate in movement activities, and engage children throughout the day.
• Help prepare learning materials, sensory activities, crafts, and classroom centers.
• Maintain classroom cleanliness by sanitizing toys, cleaning tables, organizing materials, and assisting with daily closing duties.
• Observe and report children's progress, behaviors, or concerns to the Lead Teacher or Supervisor.
• Follow all North Dakota childcare licensing regulations and center policies.
• Work as a team to provide exceptional care and create a positive experience for every child.

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or similar settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus.
• Ability to effectively manage a classroom environment with patience, enthusiasm, and strong communication skills.
• Experience caring for infants, toddlers, or children with special needs is desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with team members and engage positively with children from diverse backgrounds.
• A genuine passion for nurturing young minds and supporting their growth through caregiving and teaching activities.

Pay: $12.00 - $16.00 per hour
