Position Summary
The Commercial Lender / Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, managing, and growing a portfolio of commercial loans and deposits. This position focuses on cultivating and maintaining strong business relationships, identifying new opportunities, and providing customized lending solutions to meet member needs.

Key Responsibilities
Loan Origination & Portfolio Management
- Develop and expand commercial loan and deposit relationships through proactive outreach, primarily via outside sales calls.
- Interview applicants and assess financial information to determine creditworthiness and loan viability.
- Structure and present sound lending proposals in compliance with Credit Union policies, Board regulations, and NCUA guidelines.
- Manage assigned portfolio, ensuring excellent service and timely communication with business members.
- Collaborate with commercial brokers, underwriters, and internal partners to ensure smooth loan processing and compliance.
- Network with area business owners and professionals to establish referral sources and build brand awareness.
- Review loan closing documents for accuracy and compliance with approved terms and internal lending requirements.
- Stay current with lending regulations and industry trends; assist with audit and regulatory inquiries as needed.
Administrative & Support Duties
- Order and review title commitments, settlement statements, and other closing documents.
- Work collaboratively with portfolio managers, administrators, and other departments to ensure a high level of member service.
- Assist with the collection of financial documents, borrower data, collateral monitoring, and insurance verification.
- Participate in managing delinquent loans as requested.

Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or loan origination.
- Strong understanding of commercial credit underwriting, financial statement analysis, and loan structure.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational abilities.
- Effective time management and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor, judgment, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in analyzing cash flow (DSCR, global analysis, income/expense ratios), loan-to-value (LTV), and capitalization rates (Cap Rates).
Additional Requirements
- Must maintain confidentiality of member information and Credit Union business.
- Ability to travel throughout Ohio markets as required.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 20 lbs several times per day.
