Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting gardening supplies, plants, floral arrangements, and outdoor equipment
- Provide expert advice on plant identification, landscape maintenance, lawn care, and horticulture best practices
- Operate POS systems efficiently for sales transactions, cash handling, and processing payments
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure shelves are stocked with fresh products
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging floral designs and promotional displays
- Assist customers via phone communication with product inquiries or order placements
- Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment and accurate record keeping
- Ensure cleanliness and safety standards are upheld within the store environment
- Support e-commerce order fulfillment by preparing online orders for pickup or delivery
- Engage in outdoor work activities such as plant care, landscape maintenance, and gardening tasks as needed
Skills
- Proven experience in retail sales, preferably within a garden center or outdoor retail environment
- Knowledge of lawn care, landscape maintenance, horticulture, and floral design
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math principles
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills in English; multilingual abilities are a plus
- Ability to identify various plants and gardening supplies confidently
- Experience with merchandising, stocking, and organizational tasks to optimize product presentation
- Competence in outdoor work activities related to gardening and landscape upkeep
