Overview of Project:
The Records Depository office ensures that all official records, regardless of format, created or received from each office documentation of its organizational function, policies, decisions, procedure, operations, or other essential activities are preserved per applicable Federal law, regulations, and Agency policy. This requires that records be forwarded to the depository for processing in accordance with applicable disposition instructions for transfer to offsite storage at a Federal Records Center (FRC), that National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in College Park, Maryland, other contracted commercial storage facilities, or for ingestion into an electronic system as digital records.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
- The Individual will be responsible for records management tasks under the direction and supervision of the Records Project Manager.
- The Individual will be responsible for analyzing, understanding, and accurately applying federal records management principles.
- The individual will also be responsible for coordinating the proper disposition of records consistent with Agency practices, assisting with orientating and training agency staff on appropriate life-cycle records management processes, and serving as the first line of communication to agency staff for records management inquiries.
- Daily, the contractor will respond to agency inquiries about records including how to obtain retired files, assist with the identification of appropriate record dispositions, interpret records management policies, requests for retirement boxes, instructions on preparing records for retirement or offsite storage, and instructions on completing Records Inventory and Dispositions Plans and Essential Records reports.
- Ensure shipments to the depository are boxed by series, in groups of records with similar qualities and the same retention period. Review incoming shipments received in the depository to determine whether all boxes/electronic media were included, packed properly, and contained the required supporting documentation.
- Follow up with the originating office to report on the status of missing or incomplete shipments or documentation. Ensure that forms submitted incorrectly by requestors are corrected and contain accurate information.
Requirements
- Two years experience working in a federal records management environment
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills
- Must be articulate, knowledgeable, and professional
- Must have the ability to lift 35 pounds
- Must possess a High School diploma or higher
- Clearance level: Secret
Salary : $58,500 - $74,100
