Position Overview:
The Freight Broker / Logistics Coordinator at 68 Freight is a dual-role position responsible for both sales and day-to-day freight operations. This individual will manage existing customer accounts, develop new business, and oversee the full lifecycle of shipments from load creation through delivery. The role requires strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow existing customer accounts while identifying and securing new business opportunities
- Quote freight, build loads, and negotiate rates with customers and carriers
- Source, onboard, and maintain relationships with qualified carriers
- Handle carrier setup, contracts, and required compliance paperwork
- Coordinate and track shipments from pickup through delivery, proactively resolving issues
- Maintain accurate documentation, load details, and communication in the TMS
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and carriers throughout the shipment process
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a freight broker / logistics coordinator role preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to learn and master logistics-based software systems.
- Proficient in using Google Workspace
- Experience in account management or business development role preferred
- Self-motivated to grow your own book of business alongside a growing company
