Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements, providing a friendly first impression.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with the kitchen and bar staff.
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation, sanitation, and food safety.
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales opportunities by recommending specials or popular dishes.
- Manage multiple tables efficiently through excellent time management skills, ensuring timely service without sacrificing quality.
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering systems, process payments, and provide correct change.
- Maintain cleanliness of tables, bussing when necessary, and assist in food preparation or kitchen support as needed to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
- Follow sanitation protocols diligently to uphold food handling standards and ensure a safe environment for guests and staff alike.
- Support other team members during busy periods by assisting with host/hostess duties or food running when required.
Experience
- Previous restaurant experience is preferred, especially in fine dining or upscale environments where attention to detail is paramount.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly advantageous.
- Experience in food service roles including serving, bussing, or hosting/hostess positions is beneficial.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices within the food industry is essential.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests warmly and professionally.
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy in cash handling and order processing.
