In this role you will get to contribute to large-scale engineering projects and gain practical experience in a highway and roadway design. By joining Parsons, you’ll be part of our well-established Summer Internship Program with 170 interns nationwide. This internship offers a unique opportunity to build real-world experience, make a meaningful impact on our organization and communities, and take important steps toward advancing your career. What You'll Be Doing: Prepare construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and cost estimates. Assist with the geometric design of highways and roadways, including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, superelevation diagrams, gore details, vertical clearance calculations, and grading plans. Perform material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and field surveys as required. Use design software and CAE/CAD applications to develop and implement project designs. Provide technical guidance and input to CAD drafters, designers, and other engineers working on the project team. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support project delivery. What Required Qualifications You'll Bring: Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills Eager to learn, self-motivated, and flexible Excellent organizational and management skills What Desired Qualifications You'll Bring: Working knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD and Microstation is a plus Prior transportation or infrastructure engineering internship experience preferred Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
