Parsons’ Indianapolis office is leading the way in delivering major transportation projects across the state and our full-service environmental group is integral to its success. Work on high-profile INDOT highway and bridge projects Lead a well-established, collaborative environmental team Enjoy flexibility and strong support for career growth Be part of a global infrastructure leader with local impact Key Responsibilities Lead NEPA Delivery Manage and/or prepare NEPA documents for highway and bridge projects in Indiana Lead higher-level Categorical Exclusions (CE-3/CE-4); experience with INDOT templates and processes strongly preferred Serve as environmental lead on moderate-sized projects and task/discipline lead on more complex efforts Technical & Team Leadership Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and quality review for environmental staff Coordinate with internal disciplines (roadway, bridge, drainage, construction, public involvement) to integrate environmental requirements into project development Implement Parsons’ QA/QC procedures and help drive continuous improvement in our environmental practice Client Service & Business Development Build and maintain strong working relationships with INDOT and other transportation clients Participate in and occasionally lead public involvement activities (public meetings, hearings, presentations) Support business development efforts, including strategy input, pursuits, and preparation of letters of interest (LOIs) and proposals What We’re Looking For: Education Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Planning, or a related field Experience 10 years of relevant environmental/NEPA experience Demonstrated experience with transportation NEPA, ideally on INDOT projects Prior consulting experience strongly preferred Skills & Credentials Strong working knowledge of NEPA and related environmental regulations (Section 4(f), Section 106, Section 404/401, ESA, etc.) Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience preparing clear, defensible environmental documents Proven ability to organize, prioritize, and deliver multiple tasks/projects on schedule Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AICP, PWS, CPESC) are a plus but not required Collaborative team leader who enjoys mentoring and developing staff Relationship-builder with a client-focused mindset and a partnership-oriented approach Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of project deliverables What’s in It for You: Opportunity to lead and grow a NEPA practice within a major transportation program Access to robust technical resources and a national network of environmental professionals Competitive compensation, benefits, and professional development support Security Clearance Requirement: None This position is part of our Critical Infrastructure team.
