What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Laborer position at 61 North Development?
Our team has multiple available positions for persons who are reliable, detail oriented, problem solvers, and who have developed skills in areas of construction such as:
-General construction labor
-Heavy equipment operations (preventative maintenance, checking/reading grade, trenching, excavation)
-Civil construction tasks, manholes, trench boxes, utilities, right of way work, traffic control- Pipe laying/fitting (pvc, abs, pex, iron)
-Concrete (rebar setting, forms)- Framing (wood, steel)
-Erecting steel building frames
-Familiar with and proper use of hand tools
-Safety/ risk
Candidates must have/ be able to:
- Possess a valid driver’s license
- Have reliable transportation
- Lift 50lbs, repeatedly
- Be of good character and attitude
- Follow directions, and add value to the team
- Be on time
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Be team oriented- Be self disciplined
- Posses basic safety equipment (safety toe boots, gloves, eye protection)
These positions will be year-round to construct 14 aircraft hangars and mixed use spaces in three new buildings at Lake Hood. The work is expected to last multiple years, and there are other similar developments planned. Our team will be directly responsible for taking these projects from start to finish. We'll complete phases of the project “in-house” and also support subcontracted work as needed. The workflow and tasks will generally follow the construction/project cycle for ground-up commercial construction.
