Location: Alexandria, VA (Onsite)

Salary: $120000-$160000 – flexible depending on experience

Travel: ~20% (primarily US, occasional international)

Only US Citizens will be considered

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maritime Robotics Field Engineer to join a cutting-edge deep-tech company developing breakthrough communications technology for use in complex environments.

This is a highly hands-on role at the intersection of robotics, RF systems, and embedded software, working on technology with little to no existing precedent and strong backing from US government customers.

You’ll be part of a small, high-performing team building and testing systems in both lab and real-world environments.

What you will be doing:

- Building, configuring, and testing hardware systems for maritime and communications applications

- Writing and modifying low-level software in C/C and deploying onto embedded devices

- Working with Linux-based systems via command line to configure, debug, and operate devices

- Integrating antennas, radios, and compute hardware into working systems

- Conducting field testing in environments such as quarries, coastal areas, and test sites

- Collecting and analysing test data, then iterating on system performance

- Rapid prototyping using platforms such as Raspberry Pi and similar embedded devices

- Collaborating closely with RF, antenna, and engineering teams to bring up new systems

Key Skills needed:

- Experience with C or C programming (ability to modify, compile, and deploy code)

- Comfort working with Linux systems via command line

- Exposure to RF systems, antennas, or communications technologies

- Ability to troubleshoot across multiple domains (software, hardware, communications)

Nice to have skills:

- Experience with robotics, unmanned systems, or maritime environments

- Hands-on experience with prototyping platforms (e.g. Raspberry Pi, Arduino)

- Background in defence, government, or field-based engineering work
