Material Handler/Forklift

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Material Handler/Stand-Up Forklift Operator to join our team in Hollywood. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient movement and storage of materials within the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. This role involves operating stand-up forklifts and other material handling equipment to perform various tasks, including loading, unloading, and transporting materials.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a material handler and stand-up forklift operator in a warehouse or similar environment.
• Certification: Valid forklift operator certification is required.
• Physical Ability: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and documenting inventory.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and commitment to warehouse safety practices and procedures.
• Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player: Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate Stand-Up Forklifts: Safely and efficiently operate stand-up forklifts to move, stack, and organize products and materials within the warehouse.
• Load and Unload Materials: Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring accuracy and proper handling to prevent damage.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by documenting materials moved and conducting regular stock checks.
• Material Handling: Transport materials to designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring proper placement and organization.
• Quality Control: Inspect materials for damage or defects and report any issues to the supervisor.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety hazards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts and other equipment, reporting any issues for repair.

Working Conditions:

• Environment: Warehouse setting with exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and potential hazards.
• Schedule: Full-time position with possible overtime, including evenings and weekends as needed.
• Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, lift, and operate equipment for extended periods.
