What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Packer position at 5th Avenue Recruiting?
We are looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Packer to join our team in our Shipping Department. The ideal candidate will performs a multi-functional job, which involves the assembly of boxes, packing customer orders, and labeling packages so that products may be shipped.
This is a full time position Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm $14/HR
Duties:
- Read customer notes, check the order request dates, prioritize orders in accordance to the past due dates.
- Count and place parts and/or cartons of parts on skids or shelving.
- Remove completed or flawed packages and take them to the proper areas.
- Assemble boxes with tape to ensure packaging is sturdy.
- Prepare orders by packing items in box, sealing containers and placing identification labels on boxes.
- Keep records of items packed and attach to customer and or production order with last item packed.
- Operation of light industrial equipment such as barcode scanners and printers will be required
- Performs other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- Basic computer skills
- Basic math skills
- Strong attention to detail
- English and Bilingual English/Spanish skills are highly desired
- Able to understand and follow oral and/or written directions
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds -
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Able to exercise the same muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects
- Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
