Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with product inquiries, including product demos when applicable
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and retail math calculations
- Maintain organized merchandising displays and stock shelves to enhance the shopping experience
- Upsell products by recommending complementary items to increase sales and customer satisfaction
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting remote customers
- Support stocking efforts by organizing inventory and ensuring products are readily available for customers
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering procedures in a retail or grocery store environment
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership in guiding team members or training new staff
- Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately for cash handling and retail math tasks
- Strong communication skills to engage with diverse customers in a bilingual setting if applicable
