Role Description
For the 2026 - 2027 iGEM competitive timeline, the Head of Research will lead all research initiatives, including designing and overseeing experiments, analyzing data, and ensuring the scientific rigor of the team's work. They will also manage and mentor the research team, foster collaboration across disciplines, and guide the development of strategic research goals. Additionally, the Head of Research will be responsible for integrating market research insights to shape competitive project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Research and Development (R&D), Research, and Analytical Skills
- Experience in conducting Market Research to inform project strategies
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including Team Leadership and mentoring experience
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively across interdisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with synthetic biology and the iGEM competition is a plus
