Job Description: Airbus/Aerovel is searching for a Quality AssuranceTechnician to join our team in Bingen, WA. In this role, you will you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of unmanned aircraft systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, supplier, and manufacturing personnel to uphold rigorous quality control standards and processes. Meet The Team: The Airbus Helicopters Flexrotor Program offers one of the most advanced small tactical unmanned aerial systems (STUAS) with vertical take-off and landing (VTOL). Your Challenges: Quality Control: 35% Perform quality control (QC) inspections of aerospace components and systems Assist with and/or review investigations into quality-related issues Monitor and track corrective actions to address any quality issues Use precision measuring tools and equipment to assess dimensions, tolerances, and material properties Identify defects, discrepancies, and non-conformances, document findings and work with appropriate stakeholders to correct or mitigate recurrence. Physically and systematically quarantine non-conforming components and assemblies identified during inspections Perform First Article Inspections Ensure proper tagging, identification and airworthiness of production parts Quality Assurance: 35% Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and documentation Document QC inspection results, non-conformances, and other quality-related issues; communicate and resolve these findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative actions Develop and implement quality related policies, procedures, and programs Develop necessary inspection requirements from supplier, incoming, in process, and final inspection points as required. Conduct internal audits on manufacturing lines to assess adherence to established quality standards, contributing to the enhancement of overall quality control. Collaborate with production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards during manufacturing and assembly Quality Department Support/Continuous Improvement: 30% Engage in seamless collaboration with the manufacturing team to swiftly identify and effectively resolve issues associated with incoming materials, ensuring production processes run smoothly. Work with engineers to improve component specifications and recommend actions to prevent occurrence of non-conformances. Promote ongoing improvements that lead to greater customer satisfaction, cost efficiency of operations, and procedural and regulatory compliance. Apply Airbus Core Values to create an environment for success, set the example, uphold the standard and welcome challenges while maintaining integrity, commitment, confidence, teamwork, customer focus, respect and reliability Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned at management discretion Your Boarding Pass: Possess a High School Diploma or equivalent Eight (8) years' experience in a manufacturing environment in a QA/QC role; preferably under an approved quality management system such as AS9100 or ISO9001 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and bill of materials (BOMs) Ability to use hand tools, calibrated instruments, measurement equipment, microscopes, and testing fixtures. Exceptional attention to detail to conduct thorough inspections and maintain accurate records. Experience and working knowledge of production techniques and quality systems in the aerospace manufacturing environment. MS office or G Suite 15 % Domestic and International travel US Person under ITAR definition (U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license Preferred Education/Skills: Associates Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience in aviation or robotics industry Experience in unmanned aviation industry Current/Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant License FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) FCC 2nd Class License Non Destructive Inspection (NDI) Certificate Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Access) Adobe Acrobat Deltek CostPoint Aras PDM SolidWorks TipQA or other Quality Management Systems Physical Requirements: Onsite: 100% - Daily except when on travel. Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings. daily Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. daily Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. daily Equipment Operation (personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment and using electronic identification card to enter building floors and internal doors): able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment and some tools including production tools such as hydraulic lifts. daily Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. daily Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 30lbs/14kgs. daily Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools. infrequently Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer. daily Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving or in a/c storage compartments. Salary range based on the required profile: $30 - $48 per hour depending on experience. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential.
