540 is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to support our partnership with Google and the Department of Defense in advancing mission-critical capabilities for a global detection and data processing platform. This platform leverages modern cloud and containerized technologies to ingest, process, and analyze high-volume, time-series data from a distributed sensor network.

In this role, you will provide project oversight and enable Agile delivery across a complex, distributed technical environment. You will work closely with engineers, architects, and mission stakeholders to drive execution, manage priorities, and ensure the successful delivery of scalable, secure systems within highly regulated, high-impact environments.

At 540, our Project Managers are called Project Anchors. As a Project Anchor, you are accountable for the overall success of the project from initiation through delivery. You will plan, lead, and organize work to foster a culture of high performance, quality, and strong client outcomes. You will partner closely with the Technical Lead and designated stakeholders to shape the project and product roadmap, ensuring alignment between mission needs and delivered solutions. This role requires regular interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including data owners, engineers, and business partners, so strong technical and business communication is essential.

Location: Patrick SFB, FL (Patrick Space Force Base). Primarily onsite, up to 5 days/week
Citizenship & Clearance Requirement: Per client requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens with an active TS/SCI clearance
Education Requirement: Bachelor's Degree preferred

HOW YOU’LL DRIVE IMPACT

  • Own delivery execution for a mission-critical data platform supporting national security objectives
  • Drive Agile delivery practices across engineering and platform teams
  • Partner with technical leads and architects to align delivery plans with system architecture and mission priorities
  • Manage project timelines, dependencies, risks, and resource coordination across multiple workstreams
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies, as necessary to support client mission needs, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog refinement
  • Drive alignment across engineering, architecture, and mission stakeholders to ensure successful delivery outcomes
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear updates for stakeholders and leadership
  • Track and report on delivery progress, risks, and key performance indicators
  • Support prioritization and backlog management in collaboration with product and technical stakeholders
  • Identify and remove blockers to maintain team velocity and delivery momentum
  • Ensure alignment between delivery teams and client expectations in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment
  • Continuously improve delivery processes, team effectiveness, and operational efficiency

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 7 years of experience in technical project management, program management, or delivery leadership roles
  • Experience delivering complex, distributed, or cloud-based systems
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and delivery frameworks
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams, architects, and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to engage with engineers and architects on system design, cloud infrastructure, and platform architecture
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and stakeholders in complex environments
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence across teams
  • Experience working in regulated or high-security environments
  • Ability to work onsite regularly in a secure, mission-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides) for collaboration, reporting, and stakeholder communication
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting Google Cloud or other cloud platform environments (AWS, Azure)
  • Familiarity working in environments using Kubernetes, containerized systems, or modern data platforms
  • Experience with DevSecOps or CI/CD-driven delivery environments
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile project management tools
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Scaled Agilist (SA) Certification
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification  
  • Familiarization with Atlassian's Suite, such as Jira (or equivalent) for use in Agile issue management, backlogs, and team metrics/reporting
