Renown Health is Northern Nevada's largest not-for-profit integrated health network with the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine.
Located in Reno, NV, we are seeking an Orthopedic PA to join our newly established Orthopedic Division under the Department of Surgery with Renown Health. Renown Health serves northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and northeastern California, and is the region's only Level II trauma center, serving a population of over 1 million patients.
Minimum of 2 years' Surgery Assist experience is mandatory. First Assist Certification is required.
The Orthopedic Surgery PA will help treat patients with ailments that affect the musculoskeletal system, including the bones, muscles, ligaments and tendons. The PA will also provide First Assistance on all surgeries. Duties will include deep and superficial wound closure, positioning, retraction, graft preparation and assisting with hardware placement and implantation.
Outpatient care will involve evaluating and managing a wide range of patients and conditions in the Orthopedic care center including prep/post-op procedures that will include injections and aspirations.
Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents, and fellows.
