The Opportunity

The Chief Financial Officer serves as a strategic member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for ensuring the long-term financial strength, operational integrity, and sustainability of 501(c) Services, its captive insurance company, and the 501(c) Agencies Trust.

This role extends beyond traditional financial management. The CFO serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and the Board of Trustees, translating complex financial information into thoughtful strategy while ensuring every financial decision supports the organization's long-term mission and objectives.

This position requires an executive who is equally comfortable discussing enterprise strategy in the boardroom, partnering with department leaders to solve operational challenges, and remaining engaged in the day-to-day financial management expected within a growing, entrepreneurial organization.

Success in this role requires intellectual curiosity, exceptional judgment, humility, and the ability to build trusted relationships across every level of the organization.

What You'll Lead

• Strategic Financial Leadership
• Provide executive leadership for all financial operations across 501(c) Services, the captive insurance company, and the 501(c) Agencies Trust.
• Lead long-term financial planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury management, cash flow planning, and financial analysis.
• Develop financial strategies that position the organization for sustainable growth.
• Continuously evaluate financial performance, identifying opportunities, risks, and emerging trends.
• Executive Partnership
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Executive Leadership Team.
• Collaborate with leaders across the organization to evaluate opportunities and strengthen operational performance.
• Communicate complex financial information clearly to financial and non-financial audiences.
• Governance & Board Relations
• Develop productive partnerships with the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees.
• Present financial results, forecasts, investment performance, and organizational risks.
• Support Board committees through analysis and strategic recommendations.
• Enterprise Risk & Compliance
• Maintain strong financial controls that protect organizational assets.
• Oversee audits, tax reporting, regulatory compliance, and external advisor relationships.
• Continuously improve financial systems, reporting tools, and internal controls.
• Treasury, Investments & ESOP Administration
• Provide oversight of treasury operations, investments, liquidity management, and capital planning.
• Administer the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) with trustees and external partners.
• Leadership & Organizational Development
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.
• Build collaborative partnerships across departments and strengthen organizational capacity.

• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, reporting, internal controls, audits, investments, and enterprise risk management.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership, boards, or trustees.
• Ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical recommendations.
• Collaborative leadership grounded in integrity, sound judgment, and continuous learning.
• CPA, MBA, or other advanced financial credentials are welcomed but not required.
