50 Stars Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher for a school-based position in Douglas, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs while collaborating with teachers, families, and related service providers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with student IEP goals.
- Provide specialized academic and behavioral support.
- Adapt curriculum, lessons, and instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
- Implement accommodations, modifications, and positive behavior-support strategies.
- Maintain a structured, positive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families.
- Communicate effectively regarding student progress and educational needs.
- Follow school policies and Massachusetts special education requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Massachusetts Special Education teaching license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
- Strong classroom-management and communication skills.
- Knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary school team.
