The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and functional needs while fostering a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Responsibilities :
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Deliver specialized instruction in a self-contained classroom setting.
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Implement positive behavior intervention strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Ensure compliance with IDEA, Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) regulations, and district policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement or appropriate Special Education endorsement.
- Experience teaching in a self-contained special education classroom preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills.
