Job Title:
Light Service Technician – Roadside Assistance
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Light Service Technician to provide roadside assistance to stranded motorists. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing light-duty roadside services such as battery jump-starts, tire changes, fuel delivery, lockouts, and other minor vehicle support. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, safe driving, and excellent customer service to ensure a positive experience for every client.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly to roadside assistance calls within assigned service area.
- Safely perform light-duty vehicle services including:
- Flat tire changes
- Battery jump-starts and battery replacements
- Lockout services
- Fuel/fluid delivery
- Minor roadside troubleshooting
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members.
- Maintain service vehicle, equipment, and inventory in safe working condition.
- Follow company and safety policies, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring professionalism and empathy in stressful roadside situations.
- Accurately document services performed and maintain required reports.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- Previous roadside assistance, automotive, or towing experience (a plus, but not required – training may be provided).
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Work Environment & Schedule:
- Roadside-based position with travel within local/regional service area.
- Shifts may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Requires availability to respond quickly to calls.
Compensation:
- Commission only.
