JOB SUMMARY:
The DC Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the building, receiving, and shipping areas, including personnel, of the Distribution Center. This requires the ability to coordinate between multiple departments, personnel and Carriers. This position is also responsible for all the maintenance activities within the DC and works very closely with staff and outside vendors to address maintenance issues.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
- Direct supervision and management of the Building, Receiving, and Shipping areas.
- Ensure all shipments are complete, on-time, and via the correct carrier.
- Primary point of contact with LTL and Parcel drivers.
- Responsible for all equipment maintenance (forklifts, wrappers, baler, etc.).
- Oversight of equipment sanitation and maintenance.
- Oversee Safety program.
- Responsible for Annual evaluations for all direct reports
- Train and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Safety rules and regulations.
- Participate/Lead the Continuous Improvement Process at the DC.
- Maintain daily forklift checklists and weekly Preventive maintenance (PM) logs. Issue work orders to Wedcor Maintenance as necessary and work with Wedcor Maintenance scheduling and outside vendors to address maintenance issues.
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly Sanitation records.
- Regularly communicate with DC Manager regarding order status and shortages/exceptions.
- Investigate and resolve scanning issues/errors.
- Identify and reconcile inventory discrepancies by working with the appropriate personnel.
- Direct daily/weekly/monthly cycle counts and monthly inventory.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- 3 - 5 years relevant work experience with 2-year College degree required.
- Ability to gain a general knowledge of Data and Warehouse Management Systems. ASC and Great Plains system experience preferred.
- Able to work with minimal supervision.
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Knowledgeable and proficient on a computer, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Possess the ability to creatively solve problems and maintain records.
- Excellent organizational skills, accurate recordkeeping and detail orientation is necessary.
- Ability to comply with all safety and department regulations.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
