The Dental Assistant plays a key role in supporting the clinical team and ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow in the operatory. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist dentists during a variety of procedures, including implant surgeries.
- Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures.
- Take high-quality dental radiographs (x-rays), intraoral photos, and digital scans (as applicable).
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatory areas according to OSHA and infection control standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records and charting within the dental software system.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene instructions.
- Perform lab tasks as assigned (e.g., pouring impressions, sending out cases).
- Follow all clinical protocols, safety regulations, and HIPAA guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification in the state of California.
- X-ray certification required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of chairside dental assisting experience preferred; implant or surgical experience is a plus.
- CPR/BLS certification (must be current).
