Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain comprehensive GIS databases by collecting, organizing, and managing geospatial data using advanced GIS software such as ArcGIS and other mapping tools.
• Conduct land surveying activities and utilize GPS technology to gather precise spatial information for project needs.
• Create detailed maps and visualizations through cartography techniques, ensuring clarity and accuracy for various stakeholders.
• Write scripts using Python, JavaScript, or other programming languages to automate workflows, develop GIS applications, and enhance data analysis capabilities via APIs and scripting tools.
• Manage relational databases and SQL-based systems to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and integrity across multiple platforms like SharePoint or custom database solutions.
• Perform GIS analysis including spatial modeling, data visualization, and geospatial data analysis to support project planning and decision-making processes.
• Lead project management efforts related to GIS implementation, including coordinating data collection activities, overseeing construction-related GIS tasks, and ensuring timely delivery of mapping products.

Skills

• Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, including experience with mapping using GIS tools and cartography principles.
• Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques combined with GPS technology for accurate field data collection.
• Experience developing GIS databases with SQL, relational databases, and data modeling methodologies.
• Skilled in scripting languages like Python or JavaScript for automation, GIS programming, API integration, and custom tool development.
• Expertise in data visualization techniques for geospatial data using advanced mapping software to communicate complex information effectively.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD for drafting and integrating spatial data into broader project workflows.
• Ability to analyze geospatial datasets critically using analysis skills to support project objectives across infrastructure or environmental sectors.
• Leadership qualities with experience managing GIS projects from conception through implementation while coordinating cross-functional teams.
• Construction experience or familiarity with construction site mapping enhances understanding of project-specific requirements.
• Excellent data management skills including organizing large datasets within databases like SharePoint or other enterprise systems; experience with APIs for integrating external data sources is a plus.
