JOB DESCRIPTION
The Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) will provide case management, group counseling, and ongoing clinical support for patients in an outpatient treatment program for Substance Use Disorder(s).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct Client Support
- Conduct substance use treatment intakes and assessments. Determine medical necessity for substance use treatment including screening for detoxification needs, providing diagnostic evaluation of substance use disorders, and evaluating placement within ASAM criteria.
- Provide substance use individual and group clinical services including case management, skills training and coordination of care, as directed by individual treatment/service plans.
- Provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive individual clinical services including case management. Act assertively to include and engage family members as partners in treatment.
- Apply evidence-based group practices in educational, skills, and relapse prevention groups.
- Abide by company and program policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries, and relevant federal/state regulations and standards.
Documentation and Reporting
- Produce accurate and timely strength-based documentation demonstrating clinical knowledge that is in alignment with agency protocols and payor regulations.
- Maintain client records to ensure compliance with agency and contract guidelines and confidentiality.
- Utilize collaborative documentation to elicit patient engagement and recovery-based language.
Other
- This position may require handling and disposal of needles as part of clean-up duties, necessitating adherence to proper safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Clinical Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- This position typically requires at least a CADC-I.
- Must have reliable transportation or maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residency and have a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
- At least 1 year work experience in SUD services.
- Ability to effectively use most features of Google Workspace and Microsoft Suites.
- Ability to create detailed reports as requested.
- Ability to work independently and as a team player.
- Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills.
- Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
- Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
- Able to clearly articulate information to people of varying cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds. Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Able to problem solve and develop creative approaches.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- CADC II or III
- QMHA
- CRM
- At least 1 year work experience in a clinical SUD treatment environment.
JOB DETAILS
Pay: $28-$30/hr, full-time
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm
