Our mission is to provide- in collaboration with individuals, communities, and systems- comprehensive services that support recovery, well-being, and resilience. These services include peer mentoring, recovery community centers, housing, mental health care, and substance use treatment.


JOB DESCRIPTION

The Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADC) will assess and treat individuals with substance use disorders through individual & group counseling, coordinate service care for mental health and other clinical needs, while supporting the needs of the clinic during open hours as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct Client Support (60%)

  • Conduct substance use treatment intakes and assessments to determine client level of care based on ASAM criteria and establish individualized treatment plans. 
  • Incorporate evidence based treatment modalities to assist clients in reducing symptoms through individual and group sessions. Provide trauma-informed and culturally responsive individual clinical services. Act assertively to include and engage family members as partners in treatment.
  • Coordinate service delivery as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist clients in holistic care. 
  • Abide by company and program policies and procedures, confidentiality laws, professional boundaries, and relevant federal/state regulations and standards.


Documentation & Reporting (40%)

  • Produce accurate and timely strength-based documentation demonstrating clinical knowledge that is in alignment with agency protocols and payor regulations. 
  • Maintain client records to ensure compliance with agency and contract guidelines and confidentiality.


OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attend supervision, team, and agency meetings as directed. 
  • Assist with other recovery support services as directed. 
  • This position may require handling and disposal of needles as part of clean-up duties, necessitating adherence to proper safety protocols to mitigate potential risks and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


JOB/BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES

  • Clinical Setting. You must be able to perform professionally in a clinical treatment setting. This involves maintaining confidentiality and supporting a trauma-informed, holistic treatment environment.
  • Skilled with Conflict Management. You must possess basic essential skills related to de-escalation and conflict resolution. With a community center open to all individuals who want a safe environment, this position requires managing and overseeing all interactions between clients/community members and navigating conflict in a safe and restorative manner.
  • Service. You must support an organizational culture that reflects the value placed on high quality client services and inter-departmental collaboration. This requires managing and maintaining excellent professionalism and ethical boundaries.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  1. This position typically requires at least a CADC-I.
  2. Must have reliable transportation or maintain a valid driver’s license for the state of residency and have a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. If driving a personal vehicle for work purposes must also have and maintain personal auto liability coverage. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle, must complete the agency’s driving approval process before they drive for work.
  3. At least one year of work experience in SUD services.
  4. Ability to effectively use most features of Google Workspace and Microsoft Suites.
  5. Ability to create detailed reports as requested.
  6. Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  7. Excellent communication, trauma-informed approach and conflict resolution skills.
  8. Well-developed documentation skills and a strong commitment to quality management; ability to write accurate and concise reports while meeting tight deadlines.
  9. Must be dependable, flexible and punctual, and exhibit strong time management skills.
  10. Able to clearly articulate information to people of varying cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds. Able to communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
  11. Able to problem solve and develop creative approaches.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • CADC II or III
  • QMHA
  • CRM
  • At least one year work experience in a clinical SUD treatment environment.
  • At least two years experience working with minority communities and knowledge of the current disparities that certain communities of service users may face more broadly in society.
  • Familiarity with QPR and crisis intervention.


SAFETY

While all employees are expected to comply with company safety standards, this position requires meeting additional safety expectations related to:

  • Interpersonal skills and conflict management
  • De-escalation of hostile interpersonal situations


JOB DETAILS 

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour, Full-time

Schedule: Generally Monday-Friday, 1:00pm-9:00pm. Some availability for weekend work may be necessary. Some exceptions may be for additional mandatory team meetings.
