Position Overview
We are hiring a Director of Business Development to lead and grow our federal pipeline. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with responsibility for shaping and executing our growth strategy across current and emerging federal accounts. As 4A continues to expand as a federal prime contractor, this role will play a critical part in driving our agency footprint, shaping partnerships, and leading capture efforts that align with our strategic goals. You will work closely with the executive team, delivery leadership, and external stakeholders to guide business development with long-term impact in mind.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute 4A’s federal business development strategy in collaboration with the CEO and senior leadership
- Identify, shape, and lead high-value federal opportunities across both existing and new agency partners
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships, teaming arrangements, and go-to-market alliances
- Guide capture and proposal strategies across the opportunity lifecycle, including win themes, solutioning, and price-to-win
- Serve as a key external representative of 4A in the GovCon ecosystem including industry events, partner networks, and agency engagements
- Provide regular forecasting, pipeline updates, and performance insights to executive stakeholders
- Contribute to broader company strategy as a member of the leadership team
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of experience in federal business development, capture management, or growth strategy
- Demonstrated success winning prime contracts in services-based federal consulting
- Deep knowledge of federal procurement strategies, IDIQs/GWACs, teaming models, and capture planning
- Strong executive communication skills able to represent the firm with clients and partners at senior levels
- Experience developing long-term account and agency growth strategies
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with agencies such as CMS, IRS, DHS, VA, DoD etc.
- Prior experience in a leadership role at a federal consulting firm
- Established relationships at key civilian or defense agencies (CMS, IRS, VA, DHS, DoD, HHS, etc.)
- Experience working with small business contracting programs (e.g., 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, HUBZone)
- Clearance (active or eligible) is a plus
