Reports To: Building Principal

What You'll Be Doing:

 

Instructional Delivery:

 

o   Team teach with grade level partner following the Team Teaching building model shared by administration.  This could include, but not limited to having your grade level partner, our SPED teacher, Reading Interventionist, ELL teacher, or other push-in teachers in your classroom at some point in the day and utilizing a co-teaching strategy.

o   Develop lesson plans with your partner to meet state and district standards ensuring all students are actively engaged in learning.

o   Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology  tools to accommodate diverse learning styles.

o   Continuously assess student understanding and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes to develop dynamic student groupings.

o   Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and fellow teachers to enhance curriculum alignment and instructional practices.

o   Prepare Project Based Learning projects with your teammate during the year.

 

Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring

 

o   Meet regularly to assess and analyze student performance through formative and summative assessments to great dynamic groupings.

o   Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports.

o   Use data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions through the PLC and/or MTSS teams.

 

Classroom management and Student Engagement

 

o   Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture were student are respected and motivated to succeed through shared expectations and procedures.

o   Manage, supervise, and ensure safety, behavior, and well-being of students.

o   Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time.

o   Foster students’ social-emotional development by integrating trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches.

o   Collaborate with parents, guardians, and necessary stakeholders to address behavior concerns and support student growth.

 

Professional Development and School Collaboration

 

o   Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve their craft and stay up-to-date on educational best practices.

o   Contribute to schoolwide initiatives, such as our team teaching initiative, and collaborate with school staff on projects that support student achievement.

o   Attend faculty meetings, workshops, family engagement events and parent teacher conferences as required.

o   Serve on school committees and contribute to creating a positive school climate. 

 

 

 To Be Successful at This Job, You'll Need To: (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bring Expertise and Vision:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
    • Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
    • Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management
    • Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments
