TITLE: CTE- Career and Technical Education Facilitator (Grades 9-12)
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree and current license in any Career and Technical Education Program.
Career Development Facilitator Certification and/or Special Populations Coordinator Certification. Exemplary communication and leadership skills. Commitment to continuous quality improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinates the career development process for students which includes: promoting career awareness, exploration, and planning; introduces students to and assists them with a career focus within a career pathway; coordinates alignment of middle school and high school courses of study; assists students with leadership and the development of skills needed in the workplace.
Assists students with identifying and completing career and college ready assessments and interpreting results for vocational advisement.
Assists students with managing an academic course plan and career portfolio.
Involves students in experiences designed to enable them to make smooth transitions from school-to-work and/or from secondary to post-secondary education and/or training.
Provides stakeholders with access to career development resources to include: occupational information, workforce development placement, and labor market information needed to assist students with educational and career plans.
Serves as a liaison with the business, industry, education and military communities.
Promotes and coordinates career development activities and related initiatives that support the mission of Career and Technical Education.
Coordinates support services to enable students to successfully complete Career and Technical Education programs.
Serves as a liaison for Career and Technical Education teachers, Exceptional Children’s teachers and community agencies in coordinating services for special populations students.
Serves on the IEP Teach, Student Services Team and School Improvement Team as deemed necessary by the school principal.
Collaborates with stakeholders to identify and administer support services for special populations students.
Monitors progress for special populations students in CTE classes and recommends interventions to include support for classroom and homework assignments; testing modifications; instructional equipment and materials; and learning environments as needed.
Conducts career planning and related activities for CTE classes with special populations students for vocational advisement and developing employability skills.
Engages special populations students with work-based learning opportunities.
Supports CTE teachers in instruction and support of special populations students.
Maintains and submits required documentation to the Career and Technical Education Office for the special populations audit.
Submits the annual CTE Concentrator Survey as required by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction.
Facilitates professional development and other instructional support for CTE teachers.
Supports CTE career academies and advisory councils as needed.
Attends in-service sessions and professional development opportunities for Special Populations Coordinators and Career Development Coordinators.

Performs other duties and accepts responsibilities as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have finger dexterity and be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of sitting, light lifting, pushing, pulling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion.

Background check with local and state law enforcement agencies required.
