About The Role

The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Intelligence Specialist (GG-0132-13) to work at the 412 Test Wing, Plans and Programs, Intelligence, 412 TW/XP2) at Edwards Air Force Base.

The primary purpose of this position is: to provide intelligence support to local test programs and personnel who are developing acquisitions platforms and systems as part of Air Force Material Command’s (AFMC) intelligence support to the overall acquisition life-cycle (Acquisition Intelligence). Direct intelligence support is provided to all elements within the 412th Test Wing, as well as to the Air Force Test Center (AFTC) and Edwards Air Force Base tenant units as outlined in Intra-Service Support Agreements. Serves as a multi-source intelligence analyst engaging in the complex technical research, analysis, interpretation, and assessment of information obtained and processed from one or more intelligence sources in support of the acquisition life-cycle and customer requirements. Independently conducting complex research, evaluates, analyzes and fuses multi-source information from all intelligence disciplines to identify collection threats to the test facilities and programs under test and evaluation across the 412th test enterprise. Utilizes subject matter expertise (SME) of foreign collection techniques/technologies to assist in developing procedures to mitigate vulnerabilities to these foreign collection threats. Responsible for research, develop, prepare and deliver tailored intelligence assessments and products via briefings and discussions to senior leaders, CTF staffs, test program managers and test support engineers.

Typical 2025 salary range: $120,246 - $156,323 per year (includes locality)

Desired Skills

  • 4 or more years USAF all-source intelligence analysis experience desired
  • 4 years all-source analysis of Air/Air Defense systems desired
  • 2 years electronic warfare analysis desired.

Major Duties

  • Provides Intelligence Support to Test/Technology Protection Efforts
  • Provides detailed threat briefing/specialized analysis to AFTC related test programs/squadrons.
  • Provides detailed, substantive expertise regarding a vast range of intelligence disciplines to include geo-political, political-military (POL-MIL), Integrated Air Defense Systems (IADS), Electronic Warfare (EW), air operations, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTP), cyber intelligence and force protection threats
  • Analyzes proposed weapon system performance capabilities, determines optimum intelligence solutions, and documents the requirements and supporting intelligence infrastructure necessary to successfully acquire and employ future Air Force capabilities.
  • When required for Real World or Exercise scenarios, provide Intelligence support to the Installation Commander as a member of the installation’s CAT; provide actionable Intelligence support as required depending on the emergency for use in the decision-making process.
  • Work with the AFTC/412TW SIO in providing input to and drafting numerous plans annex (Installation Deployment Plan, Installation Defense Plan, Emergency Management Plan, etc.)
  • Evaluates both classified and unclassified information to understand U.S./coalition and adversary strengths, weaknesses, and centers of gravity..

Qualifications/Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • This is a national security position. Must be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position
  • This position requires Temporary Duty Travel up to 25% or more
  • Knowledge of the intelligence cycle and intelligence policy and guidance, and the structure, organization, roles and missions, and inter-relationships of the national IC, DoD, and USAF.
  • Knowledge of acquisition policy and guidance and the role intelligence plays throughout a weapon system’s life-cycle; Acquisition Intelligence analysis mission and strategy; and the roles and responsibilities of field intelligence offices in support of USAF Acquisition Test Programs to include test operations, execution, and protection is required.

Knowledge of the full range of intelligence research methods, techniques, and practices and advanced analytical principles, concepts, and methods used to identify and analyze complex multi-source intelligence information to produce detailed intelligence capabilities and threat assessments, identify intelligence deficiencies, and advocate for customer requirements.
