What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wedding Coordinator - Hourly position at 4000 ARCHDIOCESE OF SEATTLE PAYROLL SVC?
The Wedding Coordinator supports couples with the celebration of their covenant of marriage at Mary, Queen of Peace, St. Joseph and Our Lady of Sorrows. For budgeting purposes, the estimated time of coordination per wedding is 10 hours. The typical number of weddings per year are between 10 and 12.
Major Responsibilities
Meet with couples to help them plan the details of their wedding, elaborating on general instructions or guidelines as needed.
Lead the wedding rehearsal the day before the wedding to walk through the liturgy with the couple and anyone else with a role in the liturgy and orient them with the space.
Be present on the day of the wedding for their arrival, pictures, the liturgy, and assist with any cleanup necessary, to ensure the smooth flow. May need to serve as the sacristan.
Work with the Marriage Preparation coordinator as needed, who supports the couple through the larger marriage preparation process and sends them the initial paperwork.
Additional Expectations
Must be normally flexible for evenings and weekends (Thursday, Friday and Saturday in particular).
Qualifications:Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs
In supporting this Sacrament, the Wedding Coordinator may be asked to be a Sacristan. Consequently, it would be essential to be a practicing Catholic.
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
