Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating tractor-trailers and various specialized equipment to deliver freight efficiently and reliably across designated routes. Your expertise in commercial driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle cargo will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced logistics environment where your skills directly contribute to our operational success. A drug screen is required for this position. As well as random screenings throught the year.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or national routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, forklifts, farm equipment of the owners or customers.
- Drive, flatbeds, tankers, or bulk agricultural commodities trucks while adhering to regulations and safety protocols
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan optimal routes, monitor traffic conditions, and ensure timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before and after each trip
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, delivery records, and compliance with all DOT regulations, maintaining accurate paperwork for billing
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, or any issues encountered during transit, issues with equipment, and repairs
Requirements
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery; route driving experience is highly valued
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials handling, and dangerous goods transportation
- Ability to handle various types of cargo, flatbed loads, tankers, or bulk agricultural commodities
- Skilled in manual handling techniques for loading/unloading cargo; farm equipment familiarity is a plus
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling procedures and safety protocols for commercial trucking operations
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan routes effectively for timely deliveries
- Physical stamina to load/unload freight and perform vehicle inspections; ability to work flexible schedules as needed. Pass a pre-employment drug screen, as well as pass random drug screens.
