What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Technician II position at 4 Horn Management?
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Yard Technician II ensures that all equipment is ready for rent and the yard is organized to maximize efficiency.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Must have a valid state driver’s license with a moderately clean driving record.
- Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language.
- Ability to take verbal and written instructions and perform the tasks necessary for the job.
- Ability to perform basic math.
- Ability to maintain a safe, organized and clean working environment.
- This position will require driving Non-DOT company vehicles to and from our clients.
PREFERRED EDUCATION & SKILLS
- High School degree or equivalent is preferred.
- 1 year of Forklift experience is preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Load and unload trucks. This includes the safe distribution of weight and proper and legal tie down of all loads.
- Transports non-DOT equipment
- Prepare equipment for rent.
- Organize and put equipment and tools in proper place.
- Keep the area of responsibility clean and organized.
- Keep forklift, pallet jack, and pressure washer in good working order.
- Responsible for matching loaded and unloaded equipment with delivery tickets or other freight documents.
- Performs minor maintenance or cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Notes any physical damage to equipment received on freight document.
- Works outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by Management.
