Job Title: Workforce Development Director
Organization Summary: 4:13 Strong is a faith-based non-profit organization based in Nashville, Tennessee that empowers young men to transform their lives so that they can succeed personally and professionally. Our residential program provides a holistic approach to foster social, emotional and spiritual growth and takes approximately six to eight months for a participant to complete.
Job Summary: The 4:13 Strong Workforce Development Director reports directly to the 4:13 Strong Director of Operations and has responsibility for workforce training and participant job placement. The Workforce Development Director is responsible for developing, documenting and implementing all workforce training and oversees each participant’s progress from the training program through graduation.
Responsibilities and Duties: Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Workforce Development Director will have the following responsibilities:
Place 4:13 Strong participants in full-time jobs
o Teach and provide for instruction in work ethics, construction, and other work-related
opportunities
o Provide for OSHA certification
o Provide for scissor lift and skid steer training
o Provide opportunities for additional certifications
o Administer the 4:13 Strong Career Fair
o Facilitate interviews, offer letters, and employment screens for participants
o Oversee Signing Day
o Coordinate volunteers and other partners to provide a robust training program for the
40 Day Challenge
o Identify employment and training requirements and keep 4:13 Strong training relevant,
work with training coordinator to implement as needed
o Lead site visits for the 4:13 Strong class to see different opportunities
Help retain 4:13 Strong participants in their full-time jobs
o Assist in creating the transportation schedule to and from work. Drive as needed for
afternoon pick-up
o Solicit participant work performance feedback from supervisors
o Visit 4:13 Strong participants at the job site on a regular basis
o Document employment and work performance in organizational database
o Meet with the men on a regular basis and document progress towards program goals
o Provide counseling to 4:13 Strong participants when work/employment performance
issues are identified
o Communicate participant concerns and needs to job partners as required
Develop and maintain the 4:13 Strong network of Job Partners
o Communicate regularly with job partners to update on 4:13 Strong events
o Participate in trade fairs and exhibits to build relationships with Job Partners
o Develop avenues of employment outside of the construction trade
General responsibilities include
o Oversee Thursday night fellowship dinners
o Coordinate alumni communication and events
o Develop and maintain alumni database
o Lead Saturday service projects 2 times per cohort (10 Saturdays per year)
o Represent 4:13 Strong at organizational fundraisers and events
Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications and Skills: The ideal 4:13 Strong Workforce Development Director candidate will be
someone who is passionate about Christian ministry. He/She will have a bachelor’s degree or higher, or commensurate education/experience, over 4 years of experience working as part of a diverse team. The candidate will also have the following skills:
• Must have a valid Drivers License
• The successful candidate must believe in the core values of 4:13 Strong and be driven by the
mission.
• Excellent time management skills, public speaking skills, problem solving skills and both verbal
and written communication skills
• Personal Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Work Schedule: A typical workweek: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday—10:00am-5:00pm; Thursday
10:00am-7:30pm; Friday—10:00am-4:00pm; Saturday (ten times a year)—4 hours flexible
Salary and Benefits:
• Salary is $58,000/year
• Potential for quarterly performance bonus based on individual and organizational Key
Performance Indicators.
Sample KPIs:
• 10 men per class complete 40 Day Challenge
• 8 men per class graduate
• 4 new job partners per quarter
• Fifteen (15) days of Paid-Time-Off (PTO) each calendar year
• Eleven (11) paid holidays each calendar year
• Up to a three percent (3%) employer match on contributions to an Individual Retirement
Account (IRA)
• Health insurance (50% employer paid)
Salary : $58,000
