Field Sales Trainer

Our sales trainers play a critical role in customer relationships and develop, lead, and execute training programs that empower retail sales associates with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively sell mattresses and sleep products.

Key Responsibilities:
- Training Development & Delivery:
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires and existing sales teams focused on mattress product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement.
- Conduct in-person, virtual, and on-the-floor training sessions to improve product knowledge and sales effectiveness.
- Sales Coaching:
- Provide on-site coaching and mentoring to retail staff to help them meet and exceed sales targets.
- Observe and assess sales interactions, offering feedback and actionable suggestions for improvement.
- Content Creation:
- Assist with creating and maintaining training materials including manuals, presentations, videos, and e-learning modules tailored to mattress and sleep product sales.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Analyze sales data and training effectiveness to identify gaps in knowledge or performance.
- Adjust training strategies based on performance metrics and feedback.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with sales managers and product teams to ensure alignment between training content and current brand initiatives, promotions, and product launches.
- Stay updated on product changes, competitive landscape, and industry trends.
Qualifications:
Applicants should be local to Charlotte, NC
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Education preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2–3 years of sales experience, preferably in the mattress or home furnishings industry.
- 1–2 years of training or coaching experience
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to motivate and influence others.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to engage others at all levels from RSA to key stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move mattresses during training demonstrations (up to 50 lbs).
- Extended periods of standing or walking on the retail floor.
- Extended periods of driving and sitting.
- Ability to accommodate overnight travel up to 75%.
- Able to work flexible hours including some weekends.
