About The Position

Job Title: Junior Manual Test Quality Engineer

Location: Hybrid based in Glenview, IL (Local Candidates Only)

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Manual Quality Test Engineer who ensures software quality assurance by manually testing web-based applications to find bugs and defects. This position documents issues and collaborates with developers to resolve product problems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manual testing of front-end including browser compatibility, ADA, and device compatibility testing
• Identify, record, document reproducible steps thoroughly, and track defects to resolution
• Communicate test progress, test results, and quality of application changes
• Proactively identify new tools/processes/approaches and continuously strive to find ways to improve the overall testing strategy
• Ability to design and execute test scenarios for new software features
• Perform regression testing before weekly software releases
• Perform verification testing of fixed defects
• Interact with developers to resolve defects, clarify functionality and resolve usability issues before product release
• Submit, track, and assist with escalation of any product issues found during testing to ensure that they are resolved
• Utilize all required databases for SQA functions and testing
• Weekend on-call schedule rotation
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred
• 2 years of current experience in front-end manual testing
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with other team members in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience with automated testing a plus but not required
• Familiar with JIRA or similar Test Management / bug tracking tool
• JavaScript front-end testing experience ideal
• CSS, HTML experience helpful
• Understanding of software development/test methodologies/procedures and the overall product development lifecycle
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to think outside the box
• Interest in sports helpful, but not required
