We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Traveling Menswear Tailor to provide premier fitting and alteration services across a diverse portfolio of clientele. In this dynamic role, you will go beyond the traditional retail setting, bringing our brand’s standard of excellence directly to VIP private clients, corporate groups, retail stores, and special events.

Travel Requirements

While this role is NYC-based, acting as a traveling tailor is a core function of this job. You will serve clients across the tri-state area, which includes traveling to private residences, corporate offices, event venues, and retail locations in Long Island, NJ, and CT (commutes may be up to 90 minutes each way). We highly prioritize candidates who can seamlessly accommodate this varied travel schedule.

• We cover all approved travel costs up to $340 per month.
• You will be paid for any travel/commute time exceeding one hour each way.

Responsibilities

• Diverse Client Servicing: Provide on-site tailoring, pinning, and fitting services for VIP private clients, corporate groups, retail stores, and special events.
• Expert Alterations: Perform high-quality alterations on men’s garments, including hemming trousers, tapering, jacket adjustments, sleeve work, and general resizing.
• Brand Representation: Represent the brand with the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and customer service during all on-site client visits and events.
• Precision & Consistency: Execute alterations based on provided specifications and measurements, maintaining strict brand standards of craftsmanship across all garments.
• Adaptable Workflow: Set up and maintain a clean, organized, and professional workspace, whether you are in a retail store, a corporate boardroom, or a VIP's private home.
• Project Management: Track workload, manage multiple client profiles, and ensure the timely completion of all alteration assignments across different client tiers.
• Communication: Coordinate with team members, management, and event planners regarding order status, timelines, and special client requests.

Qualifications

• Experience: 5 years of menswear alterations (Required).
• Technical Expertise: Proven experience in garment alterations, specifically tailored menswear. Strong proficiency with sewing machines, hand-finishing techniques, and structured garments (familiarity with jacket construction and shoulder work is a major plus).
• Client-Facing Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to provide a premium, luxury experience for VIP and corporate clients.
• Professionalism: High level of discretion, polish, and adaptability to work effectively in diverse, high-pressure settings (homes, offices, event venues, etc.).
• Autonomy: Ability to follow alteration specifications accurately, work independently, and manage time efficiently while on the road.
• Mobility: Reliable transportation and the willingness to fulfill the dynamic travel duties required within the tri-state area (NY/NJ/CT).

Pay: $25.00 - $45.00 per hour
