Lead Setup Technician

3P Processing is a leader in aerospace metal finishing, providing critical processing services to customers across the aerospace industry. We are looking for a motivated Lead Setup Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supporting daily production, mentoring team members, ensuring quality standards are met, and helping the department achieve production goals.
The ideal candidate is someone who leads by example, has strong technical knowledge, and takes pride in developing others while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Setup Technician, you will:
- Lead the daily workflow of the Setup Department while working alongside your team.
- Assign and prioritize work to ensure production schedules are met.
- Review production routers, work instructions, blueprints, and customer specifications.
- Ensure aerospace components are properly unpacked, cleaned, laid out, masked, plugged, and prepared for processing.
- Verify work is completed accurately before moving parts to the next operation.
- Troubleshoot setup issues and assist with complex customer orders.
- Train, mentor, and support new and existing Setup Technicians.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate production concerns and workflow updates with supervisors and other departments.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area.
- Support company goals for quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction.
These responsibilities expand on the core Setup Technician role, which includes preparing aerospace parts for processing, interpreting production routers and specifications, handling customer materials carefully, and meeting quality and production standards.
Qualifications
Required
- Manufacturing experience required.
- Previous setup experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret production routers, blueprints, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Positive attitude with the ability to lead by example.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
Preferred
- Previous lead, trainer, or mentoring experience.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience.
- Experience troubleshooting production or quality issues.

Physical Requirements
This position requires standing for extended periods, frequent lifting of materials up to 75 pounds, repetitive bending and reaching, and working in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, industrial equipment, and production noise. The physical and environmental demands are consistent with those identified for the Setup Technician position.
