A global consumer food and beverage company with national US distribution is looking for an Account Executive to manage and grow its established Hawaii territory. This role reports to the Hawaii Sales Manager, sitting within a small, close-knit local team.
The right person is an experienced retail sales professional who knows how to manage a broad account base, build strong buyer relationships, and execute with discipline in the field. Hawaii market knowledge is a genuine advantage.
What You'll Do
- Manage a portfolio of retail accounts across Hawaii, including major chains and independent grocery formats, and support in-store execution, shelf placement, and product availability.
- Support distribution growth by identifying gaps within existing accounts and working with the Sales Manager to prioritize ranging opportunities.
- Conduct regular in-person visits across independent and small-format grocery accounts to monitor stock, build relationships, and identify sales opportunities.
- Work alongside a grocery merchandiser to coordinate in-store activity and close inventory gaps, particularly across smaller accounts.
- Develop and negotiate promotional plans for the Hawaii territory in conjunction with finance and cross-functional peers.
- Drive and win display opportunities in line with national and state-level plans.
- Execute planograms and shelf standards across accounts in line with company protocols.
- Manage key customer relationships day-to-day, including forecasting, order management, quarterly planning, budgeting, and issue resolution.
- Ensure all national programs are activated within Hawaii; maintain trade standards and adequate stock levels across the account base.
- Actively manage and minimize out-of-stock situations, particularly across independent accounts.
- Stay current on competitor activity, market trends, and retail dynamics across Hawaii and feed insights back to the Sales Manager.
- Prepare regular sales reports, pipeline updates, and performance commentary.
- 3 years in CPG/FMCG, or retail sales in a field-based role. Food and beverage sales experience preferred but not essential.
- Familiarity with the Hawaii retail landscape, including chain grocery and independent market formats, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a broad account base independently and deliver against revenue targets.
- Experience working across retail grocery formats, from major chains to independent stores.
- Strong negotiation skills and comfort holding commercial terms while maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Commercially minded, with an understanding of trade investment and promotional planning.
- Clear, direct communicator; confident presenting to buyers and reporting back to leadership.
- Comfortable working with autonomy in a small team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience is a plus.
- Must be based in Hawaii or willing to relocate. Ability to travel up to 75% within Hawaii
