A premier Civil Engineering - Land Development consulting firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Land Development Design to be based in the DC Metro area. This pivotal full-time role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of civil/site land development projects, driving technical excellence, client satisfaction, and profitability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (required)
- 10–12 years of progressive experience in civil engineering land development design
- Minimum 5 years managing civil/site design for land development projects, with design staff oversight preferred
- Strong organizational, delegation, and leadership abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining client relationships and delivering high-quality service
Responsibilities
- Oversee a portfolio of civil/site land development design projects, ensuring client satisfaction and project profitability
- Lead client relations and contribute to developing proposals and securing new work
- Maintain schedules, budgets, and invoicing, while ensuring projects meet financial targets
- Provide technical leadership and support to the team to help clients achieve development goals
- Represent clients at key project milestones, including public presentations and hearings
- Drive business development and marketing efforts for the client organization
- Mentor and supervise design staff, including workload/resource planning, quality control, and performance feedback
- Collaborate with senior leadership to meet organizational objectives
