As a Quality Control Laboratory Technician (Cordova, IL)*, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Support product quality, product development, process scale-ups, or production processes by learning and performing elementary tests, measurements, and tasks for experimentation and/or production.
• The technician will also gain understanding and assist in the development of quality standards and test procedures in order to inspect materials, in-process, or final products to ensure 3M quality standards are met.
• This position is a 12 hour shift rotating position at the Cordova plant.
• Conducting analysis of samples with minimal supervision and report results.
• Supporting QC lab process improvement initiatives.
• Supporting product validations and optimizations.
• Utilizing LIMS and other Computer Systems.
• Documenting all test results.
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Participating in quality improvement programs.
• Maintaining/improving testing cycle times for QC.
• Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution completed and verified prior to start.
• Minimum of one (1) year of quality control technician experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associates/Two Year Technical degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a chemical operator, laboratory technician or combination of both.
• Understanding of basic concepts of measurement systems, testing, and calibration.
• Working knowledge of the basic quality tools (check sheets, process flow diagrams, cause-and-effect, histograms, Pareto charts, scatter diagrams, run charts) and general awareness of a consistent problem-solving methodology, such as the "7 Step Problem Solving Method".
• Experience working with diverse team including external partners
• Ability to communicate regularly and effectively on test results and observations.
• Detail oriented.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
