Job Summary:
3D Technologists manipulate CT and MRI medical images on highly sophisticated 3D software and specialized “thin” client/server equipment in multiple planes and dimensions for clinical visualization and quantitative analysis of diagnostic and interventional studies. The Level 1 role is a training role where the incumbent will be provided classroom and self-guided training modules to learn the various protocols required to analyze and accurately process the images and views depicting anatomy and/or pathology. Technologists must improve their quality and speed in processing cases and these measures are regularly monitored to evaluate success on the job. You do not complete training until you meet minimum requirements in both quality and productivity standards.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manage data image transfer process from 3DR post-processing equipment in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prompt attendance to scheduled shift and responsiveness to case management deadlines.
- Utilize education, skill, and experience to determine the appropriate 3D views for diagnosis and pre-surgical planning.
- Collaborate with other professionals including technologists, doctors, surgeons, and other clinicians to provide accurate views depicting certain anatomy and/or pathology.
- Accurate recordkeeping with logs, reports, and billing processes.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with highly detailed information.
- Accurate and timely operation of computer software.
- Ability to view images on a screen and create cross-sections and other perspectives for analysis and diagnosis.
- Knowledge in cross-sectional anatomy and gross pathology.
- Ability to navigate through proprietary 3D software, Microsoft Office software, HR software, wikis, and other online resources to perform job functions.
- Ability to memorize protocols and computer commands.
- Ability to work independently on cases.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated professional demeanor speaking with colleagues, doctors, surgeons, clinicians, and other professionals in sometimes tense situations.
- Professional review of colleague’s work, providing guidance, sharing new ideas and information in a professional manner.
- This position may involve working non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends and occasional holidays to ensure continuation of operations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Required Associates in Health Science in Radiologic Technology or preferred bachelor’s degree in a health science or related field of study.
- Required knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and radiologic equipment.
- Required license: ARRT RT (R). Preferred CT and MR licenses
- Preferred experience in 3D and multi-planar reformatting
- Preferred experience in multi-modalities
- Desirable software experience with Tera Recon, Vital Images, VISAGE, and/or other 3D software.
