What are the responsibilities and job description for the Low Voltage Installation Technician position at 3D Technology Services, Inc.?
We are seeking 2 to 3 skilled Installation Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will have hands-on experience professionally installing, terminating, programming, and troubleshooting at least one of the following low voltage system types: CCTV/Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion/Burglar Alarm, or Fire Alarm systems. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced technicians who take pride in delivering clean, professional installations and providing outstanding customer service.Key Responsibilities• Install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, coaxial, fire-rated cable) per industry standards and local codes• Mount and configure cameras, card readers, door hardware, motion detectors, control panels, and notification appliances• Program and configure system software, controllers, and head-end equipment• Perform system commissioning, end-user training, and final walk-throughs with clients• Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and riser drawings• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in a timely, professional manner• Maintain accurate documentation including as-built drawings and service reports• Coordinate with general contractors, electricians, and other trades on job sitesRequired Qualifications• 3 to 5 years of professional experience installing at least one of the following: CCTV/Video Surveillance, Access Control, Intrusion Alarm, or Fire Alarm systems• Strong knowledge of low voltage wiring practices, NEC standards, and applicable local/state codes• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, and perform physical tasks in various environments• Professional appearance and strong communication skills for client-facing interactionsPreferred Qualifications• Experience with multiple system types (CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion, and/or Fire Alarm)• Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Axis, Genetec, Milestone, Honeywell, Bosch, DMP, Lenel, HID)• NICET certification (Fire Alarm) or ESA/NTS certification• Experience with IP-based/networked security systems and basic networking knowledge• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certificationWhat We Offer• Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience• Health, dental, and vision benefits• Paid time off and holidays• Company vehicle or vehicle allowance• Tool allowance and ongoing training/certification support• Opportunity for growth and advancement
