Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations and patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and evaluations.
- Manage acute and chronic conditions across specialties such as emergency medicine, geriatrics, and internal medicine.
- Direct staff to administer injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, botulinum toxin treatments, and perform suturing with sterile technique.
- Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Practice Fusion to document patient encounters accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including sonography, laboratory specimen collection/processing, and medical imaging procedures like spinal taps or cardiac catheterization.
- Provide telehealth consultations and participate in case management for outpatient and inpatient populations.
- Support specialized care areas such as hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, infectious disease care, or post-acute care settings.
Qualifications
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license with state-specific certification; experience with advanced practice nursing is essential.
- Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems
- Extensive clinical experience in settings such as hospital medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I/II trauma centers, or emergency rooms.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and HIPAA regulations.
- Skilled in performing procedures such as venipuncture, catheterization, tube feeding management, sterile processing techniques, and airway management.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including children (pediatrics), seniors (geriatrics), patients with developmental disabilities or memory care needs.
- Familiarity with specialty areas like gastrology (gastroenterology), occupational health, anesthesia procedures like spinal taps or ventilator management, and esthetic laser treatments is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments such as trauma centers or teaching hospitals.
