Ranch Hand - General labor, welding, carpentry, cattle and livestock wellness.
The basic duties of a ranch hand will be tending to livestock, repairing and maintaining fences, ranch buildings and equipment, general labor, welding, and light to medium mechanical work.
Job Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
• Clean livestock stalls, pens, and equipment using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovel, and water hoses;
• Drive trucks, tractors, and other equipment to distribute feed to animals, complete building projects, harvest crops, and prepare fields for planting;
• Examine animals to detect illness, injury or disease and to check physical characteristics;
• Groom, clip, and trim animals;
• Take livestock to pastures for grazing or to other enclosures;
• Working cattle, tagging, vaccinating, and castrating calves if needed;
• Mowing;
• Discing;
• Bulldozing;
• Preparing and planting food plots;
• Brush control;
• Concrete, welding and carpenter projects;
• Clean and store equipment;
• Build and repair fencing;
• Transport vehicles or equipment to the proper repair facility when necessary;
• Clearing brush;
• Basic machinery maintenance and repair.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, sun, and dust for extended period of time. Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 80 lbs and perform all tasks associated with ranching. Must have valid driver's license.
