Solar Plant Manager

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and staff on a utility scale solar site near Barstow, CA.

This is a direct hire opportunity with competitive base salary, benefits, and a generous bonus structure. The Company owns and operates over 7.5 GW of renewable and conventional energy assets across the United States. Their portfolio ranges from community solar to some of the largest solar projects in the country. This particular solar site would be located in Daggett, CA sizing in at 482 MW solar and 394 MW BESS. We are willing to discuss relocation assistance for candidates not located near the site.

• Plant Maintenance Management: Oversees maintenance program prioritizing safety, planning/scheduling, and preventive/predictive practices in the PV industry.
• Accountability: Ensures availability, meets contractual obligations, and adheres to budget constraints.
• Supervision and Hiring: Directly supervises technicians, participates in hiring, and conducts performance reviews to assess competencies.
• Inventory and Quality Control: Manages spare parts and maintenance supplies inventory, inspects repairs for quality assurance, and monitors third-party maintenance efforts.
• Communication and Collaboration: Facilitates regular communication with management and site personnel, participates in contract negotiations, and develops standard work procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED required; 5 years in solar plant operations or 7 years in instrumentation & controls/MV/HV electrical work.
• Minimum 5 years of solar/BESS site management experience, ideally at large sites (300 MW ), with experience from commissioning to full production.
• Qualified for routine and emergency operations at electric generation facilities and HV switchyards.
• Preferred experience in financial management, forecasting, and controls; proficiency in MS Office, including spreadsheets and documents.
• Strong background in HV/MV systems, maintenance program management, team leadership (10 ), and navigating complex environments; NERC certification preferred.
