Position Overview
The Pool Service Technician is responsible for maintaining residential and commercial swimming pools to ensure they are clean, safe, and properly maintained. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine pool maintenance including brushing, skimming, vacuuming, and cleaning pool surfaces.
- Test and balance pool water chemistry including chlorine, pH, alkalinity, stabilizer, and other required chemicals.
- Add appropriate chemicals to maintain proper water balance and sanitation.
- Empty skimmer baskets and pump baskets.
- Inspect pool equipment including pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and valves.
- Identify and report equipment issues or potential repairs.
- Clean or backwash filters and maintain filtration systems.
- Maintain accurate service records and notes for each customer visit.
- Communicate professionally with customers when needed.
- Follow company procedures and safety guidelines when handling chemicals and equipment.
- Keep company vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and in good condition.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work outdoors in heat, humidity, and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to approximately 50–70 lbs (such as chemical containers or equipment).
- Ability to safely handle pool chemicals and equipment.
- Ability to work on your feet for long periods throughout the day.
Work Environment
- Work is performed outdoors at residential and commercial pool locations.
- Exposure to sunlight, heat, humidity, and pool chemicals.
- Frequent travel between service locations throughout the day.
